These links are clearly incorporated into our content as editorial recommendations. Our commissions help fund the development and maintenance of AvianScope as a free resource for the birding community.

Editorial Independence

Our editorial decisions — which regions we feature, which guides we recommend, which products we include in our marketplace — are made independently of our affiliate relationships. We do not accept payment for editorial placement, and we do not alter our recommendations based on commission rates.

When we recommend a pair of binoculars, a field guide, or a birding destination, it is because we genuinely believe it serves our community of serious birdwatchers. If we receive affiliate compensation for a recommendation, we will disclose it clearly in that content.

Digital Products

AvianScope sells its own digital products, including field guides, trip planner PDFs, species checklists, and life list logbooks, through our Marketplace powered by Stripe. All products are offered at clearly stated prices; there are no hidden fees or upsells after purchase. Digital products are delivered electronically via secure download link upon completed payment.

Operator Listings (Coming Soon)

AvianScope is building a marketplace for guided birding experiences. When this feature launches, listed tour operators, independent guides, and eco-lodges will be vetted by our team. AvianScope may receive a platform commission on bookings made through the site. All commission structures will be disclosed in the relevant operator and traveler terms at launch.
